Design and Photography Trends for the Last Quarter of 2020

For the first time, we have compiled and analyzed the main search trends for graphic resources for the last quarter of the year. Based on the searches carried out by users in previous years, these trends have been collected in an infographic where the dates and the most relevant visual content for each event are displayed.

In this first edition of the “Visual Search Trends” infographic, there are nine topics that stand out, and most of these coincide with key dates and holidays such as Halloween, World Day Against Breast Cancer, Black Friday, Christmas… Each theme has its own context, color scheme, and most popular resources. We are one of the most visited websites in the world (#97 according to Alexa) for searching and downloading images, so by sharing the most prominent search trends each quarter it will be helping content creators to find the perfect image for their campaigns.

According to Luisa Mateos, our Chief Content Officer, “our goal from Freepik Company has always been to provide users with quality visual content. From now on and thanks to the millions of searches that users have made and continue to make, we can also anticipate the trends in the world of graphic design and photography. Today they have more than 10 million illustrations, PSDs and photos to choose from, of which about 30% are free to download”.

Currently, we have around 25 million users which every month make more than 100 million searches about generic topics, festivities, and specific celebrations. Many of those users are designers, marketing and communication professionals, community managers, or publicists who use to search graphic resources at Freepik for their campaigns, an inspiration for creating their own images or visual content which helps them to create a particular message.

Precisely this week these “Visual Search Trends” were presented exclusively to almost 1000 Freepik contributors who have participated in the first webinar organized for them. With this presentation, the contributors, who come from Indonesia, Russia, Spain, and Mexico, among other countries, can produce graphic resources more closely adjusted to what users search and download in the last months of the year.
